Mountain Forge Escape campsite in West Cork is located in a small picturesque village named Ardfield, on the South West Coast of Cork which lies between Clonakilty and Rosscarbery, overlooking the Galley Head lighthouse. Being situated in the heart of West Cork makes a marvellous base from which to explore the captivating coastal views, the abundant beaches and family activities.
THE CAMPING SIDE
You can choose from a small (2 people), medium (3 people), large (4 people), Extra large (5+ people) or oversized (Up to 8 people) tent pitch. A car park is also available onsite. The pitches are located in front of our communal facilities and are sheltered by hedgerow on one side.
Within the two acre campsite in West Cork, they have a number of campervan awning and parking areas which provides you with water and power within your pitch. A chemical disposal unit is located on-site within walking distance. On departure a concrete base is available for you to release your sink wastewater. An additional toilet facility is located beside these pitches for your convenience.
Glamping
The Star of the Sea glamping pod caters for couples and families up to 2 adults and 2 children. This fully insulated cosy pod is a curved timber structure, complete with its very own decking area. Accommodation features a double bed, sofa bed, wet room with toilet, electric shower and sink. Bathmat, loo rolls and liquid soap are all provided but you are required to bring your own bedding and towels.
The arrival of their Dome to this West Cork campsite – one of a kind in Ireland has created imeense excitment, with it’s unique large transparent window, it will bring your glamping to a whole new experience, captivating the stunning views and wildlife. The Done provides accommodation for a couple or family of four with a private bathroom, stove and coffee machine!

Mountain Forge Escape’s location make it an excellent choice as far as campsites in West Cork go for families looking to get out and about. Their are a number of famous blug flag beaches located within 5 to 15mins of the site. It is a meer 6 minute drive from Clonakilty with Inchydoney and Dunmore House on it’s doorstep. Local activities inlcude The Lagoon Activity Centre, Smugglers Cove, Model Railway Village.
