Way out in west Clare, halfway out along the Loop Head peninsula and overlooking the Mouth of the Shannon, is the picturesque little fishing village of Carrigaholt.
It’s a charming place, untouched by the over development of recent times and well worth a visit.
From the moment you cross the threshold of The Long Dock you are struck by the old world charm and friendly comfort. It is a classic Irish pub whose proud custodians Tony and Imelda Lynch are purveyors of great local food, drink and hospitality.
Their new ice-cream parlour is a hit with all generations. Housed in what was once the milking parlour, they have remained true to the rural way of life by blending natural ingredients to produce our range of homemade ice-cream. You can even pick up a tub with packets of mini meringues and marshmallows to make your own dessert at home.
